Live music, back on your block.

We put professional musicians, paid a fair union-scale wage, into the places Seattle already gathers. The result is a stronger, more connected neighborhood.

The mission

Live music should be a regular occurrence in every neighborhood, and a driving force for keeping neighbors connected.

We are not here to put on a show and leave. We are here to help you build a stronger, more connected neighborhood through the power of live music.

Rather than run a fixed concert hall, we bring performances to where the community already gathers, and partner directly with residents and local groups.

Our musicians are professional and adaptable, able to set a calm ambiance or fill a block party with energy. And they are paid what the craft is worth.

Sustainable Music Northwest is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit. Every event is all-ages and built to be accessible to the whole neighborhood.

From the neighborhood

“One of the things that really stood out to me was the strong sense of community and connection it created. People were genuinely just happy to be there, and the music elevated the experience, as well as being professionally handled in all regards.”

Our approach

Music, brought to where the community already is.

We don't just put on concerts. We empower neighborhoods to create their own vibrant gatherings, and we make the music profession viable while we do it.

We meet people where they gather.

Rather than operate a fixed venue, we bring performances to the places a neighborhood already lives: brewpubs, block parties, apartment courtyards, and community gardens.

We partner directly with residents and local groups, then supply the right musicians for the room, professional and adaptable enough to set a calm ambiance or turn a corner park into a party.

We pay musicians what the craft is worth.

Every performer is compensated at a fair, union-scale wage. A sustainable music scene starts with treating the profession as a profession.

For hosts, we handle the parts that make events hard: setup and coordination, branded marketing materials, and promotion across our channels, so the night runs itself.
